Brighton Beach is a Dunedin favourite.
On the two or three days a year when it’s hot enough to swim, it’s packed. For the rest of the year not so much. We’re round the corner from the main Brighton Beach and about 3km down the road.
It’s one of those rare beaches that you can have to yourself, perhaps a reflection of the bracing 12 degree water temperature. We spent a few hours there on Sunday and despite sharing the beach with a couple of other people, it was a great afternoon.
